Unidentified Hurricane at Rufforth airfield.

On 19th March 1944 this 1689 Flight aircraft was to have been flown on a fighter affiliation training exercise with the crew of a 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft and was flown to Rufforth airfield for the exercise. Later, at 11.10hrs while taxying around Rufforth airfield prior to taking off, the aircraft became bogged down and the aircraft tipped up onto its nose receiving minor damage. The incident is recorded in both the Rufforth airfield station records and also the 1689 Flight orb but is purely identified as "-K".
