Unidentified Halifax at Wombleton airfield.
On 14th January 1944 an unidentified Halifax belonging to 1666 Heavy Conversion Unit burst a tyre on landing at Wombleton airfield causing minor damage to the aircraft. The unit record book lists the damage as being sustained to aircraft "-C" but does not list the serial number of the aircraft so identifying it today is difficult.
