The Thornaby station orb (AIR28/826) states that at 17.45hrs on Friday, 11th August 1944 a Wellington made a belly landing on Thornaby airfield and no injuries resulted. Nothing further is stated. The orb lists arrivals and departures of non-operational aircraft and perhaps one that fits for this aircraft was a Wellington of 22 Operational Training Unit leaving Thornaby for Mountford on 13th September 1944 where no arrival is given. This could be the departure of the repaired aircraft from 11th August 1944.
