On 28th April 1943 this 1481 Flight aircraft received repairable as a result of a flying accident at Doncaster airfield. No injuries resulted. This information is all that is given in the unit record book.

Wellington Z1602 was built to contract B.97887/40 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Hawarden. On 8th March 1942 it was flown to 9 MU at Cosford. On 18th October 1942 it was flown to 48 MU at Hawarden and on 13th November 1942 it was taken on charge by 199 Squadron at Blyton. 199 Squadron moved to Ingham on 3rd February 1943. On 23rd April 1943 the aircraft was transferred to 1481 (Bomber) Gunnery Flight at Lindholme and days later on 28th April 1943 it crashed at Doncaster sustaining Cat.B/FA damage. On 9th May 1943 it arrived at Brooklands Aviation Ltd. at Doncaster for a repair in works. On 5th October 1943 the aircraft was flown to 23 MU at Aldergrove and on 2nd January 1944 it was taken on charge by C.G.S. at Sutton Bridge. The C.G.S. moved to Catfoss on 24th February 1944. On 12th April 1944 it was involved in a minor flying accident that saw Cat.Ac/FA damage be the assessment. The aircraft was repaired on site by a team from Vickers at Weybridge and was returned to the C.G.S. charge on 13th May 1944. On 23rd May 1944 it again was slightly damaged in a flying accident that saw a Cat.Ac/FA damage assessment. Again it was repaired on site by a team from Vickers at Weybridge. Neither mishaps are recorded in the C.G.S. orb. On 18th July 1944 it returned to C.G.S. charge. On 27th June 1945 the aircraft was flown to 48 MU at Hawarden for storage and eventual disposal. It was eventually struck off charge on 31st July 1947.
