On 11th December 1943 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft underwent an inspection that found wrinkling of the mainplane surface. It was considered likely that the problem was due to the age of the aircraft and that general wear and tear on the aircraft with continual use for circuits and landings training flights that were perhaps more rough than would normally be expected.
