Halifax W7912 damaged in the air, landed at Pocklington airfield.

On the night of 28th February / 1st March 1943 this 102 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb St.Nazaire. They took off from Pocklington at 18.28hrs and bombed the target area from 14,200 feet. While over the target area this aircraft was struck on the fuselage by falling bombs from a higher flying aircraft and minor damage resulted. The crew made a safe return to Pocklington and landed at 00.16hrs.
