In the evening of 24th August 1943 this 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was being flown on a training exercise. After a fifteen minute flight the aircraft came in to land at Lindholme airfield at 22.00hrs but the pilot and flight engineer had forgotten to lower the undercarriage. The aircraft skidded to a halt on it's belly though only received minor Cat.Ac damage.
