At 15.20hrs on 15th June 1943 this 118 Squadron aircraft was being taxied too fast at Hutton Cranswick airfield and the pilot over-used the brakes. Eventually the brakes overheated then being ineffective resulting in the aircraft running into a brick outhouse on the airfield boundary. The incident is mentioned in the 1489 Flight record book as the pilot was one of two who were undertaking training courses with 1489 Flight at the time.
