Hurricane V7425 was built to contract 62305/39 by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. at Langley and was flown to 19 MU at St. Athan on 21st August 1940. Three days later it was taken on charge by 32 Squadron at Biggin Hill. 32 Squadron moved to Acklington on 28th August 1940, Middle Wallop on 15th December 1940 and Ibsley on 16th February 1941. On 27th March 1941 the aircraft was transferred to 501 Squadron at Filton and moved to Colerne with them on 9th April 1941. On 8th May 1941 it received minor Cat.Ac/FA damage as a result of a flying accident that was repaired on site. On 11th May 1941 it was taken on charge by 79 Squadron at Pembrey. It received an assessment by 43 Group D.A. while at 79 Squadron but no date is given on the AM Form 78, it may be as a result of another flying accident. On 31st July 1941 the aircraft was flown to 52 OTU at Aston Down and on 8th November 1941 it was transferred to 55 OTU at Usworth. On 27th November 1941 it was declared as Cat.B damaged, it was dismantled and taken for a repair in works by Air Training (Oxford) Ltd. On 24th December 1941 it was repaired and awaiting allocation (RAAA). On 7th January 1942 the aircraft was flown to 15 MU at Wroughton. On 17th March 1942 it was taken on charge by the Telecommunication Flying Unit (FTU) at Hurn and on 22nd May 1942 it moved with this unit to Defford. On 17th November 1942 it was declared Cat.B during a major inspection so on 24th November 1942 it was transported to Taylorcraft Ltd. at Leicester for the repair in works. The aircraft was ready and awaiting collection on 24th December 1942. On 8th January 1943 it was flown to 20 MU at Aston Down. On 29th January 1943 it was slightly damaged in a flying accident, initially to Cat.Ac/FA status but then on 9th February 1943 it was Re.Cat.B and again sent for a repair in a works factory but where is not known. On 10th April 1943 the aircraft was awaiting collection. On 15th April 1943 the aircraft was allocated to 44 MU at Edzell but the aircraft's AM Form 78 does not mention the incident on 17th April 1943 at Sherburn in Elmet during the ferry flight. The propeller would have been replaced on site at Sherburn. On 8th June 1943 the aircraft arrived at 215 MU at Locharbriggs (Dumfries) which was a packing depot. On 17th July 1943 the packed aircraft embarked on SS Chyebassa for India and it arrived at Bombay on 13th August 1943. On 21st August 1943 it was taken on charge by No.3 Aircraft Transit Section at Bombay but after this nothing of the aircraft's history in India is known other than it was struck off charge in December 1944.
