Tiger Moth T6854 at Brough airfield.
On 18th May 1943 this 4 E.F.T.S. aircraft was damaged following a heavy landing at Brough airfield during the pilot's first solo flight. The incident is one not mentioned in their record book.

Tiger Moth T6854 was built to contract 20916/39 by Morris Motors Ltd. at Cowley and was delivered to 15 MU at Wroughton on 23rd October 1941. The aircraft was taken on charge by 20 E.F.T.S. at Yeadon on 2nd November 1941 but was transferred to 4 E.F.T.S. at Brough on 5th December 1941. As a result of the mishap on 18th May 1943 Cat.B/FA damage was the damage assessment and this required a repair in works. On 1st June 1943 it was transported all the way to William Mumford Ltd. at Roborough airfield, Plymouth for a repair in works. The repair never came and on 20th August 1943 it was converted to Ground Instructional Airframe 4074M and was allocated to No.5 School of Technical Training at Locking. The aircraft lasted until July 1945 when it was struck off charge.
