On 2nd October 1943 this aircraft was being flown on a training flight with 2 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit when both the undercarriage legs collapsed on landing at Catfoss airfield. The aircraft sustained damage to both engines and the starboard mainplane.

Beaufighter T5324 was built to contract B.41906/39 by Fairey Aviation Ltd. at Heaton Chapel, Stockport and was awaiting collection in March 1943. The aircraft was taken on charge 2 (c)O.T.U. at Catfoss soon after completion. As a result of damage sustained on 15th May 1943 and then on 2nd October 1943 Ac/FA damage was the assessment each time and a repair on site was carried out each time. The aircraft remained with 2 (c)OTU unit until around the time the unit disbanded on 15th February 1944. The aircarft was placed into long term MU storage until being struck off charge on 27th September 1945.
