On 22nd October 1943 this aircraft was being flown on flight from 2 (C)OTU based at Catfoss, during the flight and probably while over the Yorkshire coast the aircraft suffered engine trouble. The engine trouble must have prevented the aircraft being flown back to Catfoss so the pilot had attempted to make a landing at Lissett airfield but crashed and the aircraft was badly damaged.
