Beaufighter T4846 at Catfoss airfield.

On 12th November 1943 this aircraft was being flown on a training flight as part of the training programme at No.2 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit. On landing at Catfoss airfield the pilot was probably trying to overshoot when he lost control and a stall developed, the starboard wing dropped and it hit ground resulting in the aircraft's starboard undercarriage collaping and it then cartwheeled coming to rest badly damaged. A fire then developed in the aircraft and it was destroyed. The two airmen are listed in the unit record book as being injured.

Pilot - F/Sgt Jones. Injured.
