On 16th August 1943 the aircraft took for a training flight but the pitch on the propeller blades were set incorrectly, the aircraft lost height immediately after leaving the ground and crashed into the overshoot area. The pilot raised the undercarriage to come to a halt in a small copse of trees and the aircraft was badly damaged. The aircraft had been damaged at Catfoss in November 1942 and was repaired.
