At 07.17hrs on 28th August 1943 following a non-operational flight lasting nearly an hour this 308 Squadron aircraft swung on landing at Hutton Cranswick airfield and hit a "hidden obstruction". What the obstruction was is unclear but the AM Form 1180 mentions that it was the fault of airfield staff for leaving flarepath equipment out so it may have been something related to this. The aircraft was badly damaged.
