Tiger Moth R5253 at Brough airfield.

On 17th June 1943 this 4 E.F.T.S. aircraft took off too closely behind another aircraft at Brough airfield and the slipstream effected the handling of this aircraft, it stalled and crashed.

Pupil Pilot - F/Sgt Thomas Philip Fenwick RAFVR (1431356). Facial injuries.


Thomas Fenwick would be taken off pilot training as he later served as a navigator with 44 Squadron. On 20th May 1944 he was killed when Lancaster ND689 failed to return from Ops to Le Mans. He is buried in Abbeville Cemetery, France.
