Spitfire P8758 at Hutton Cranswick airfield.
At 15.15hrs on 2nd January 1943 this 316 Squadron aircraft suffered a burst tyre on landing at Hutton Cranswick airfield following a training flight. The pilot could not prevent the aircraft from swinging off the runway and onto soft ground which caused the port undercarriage leg to collapse. The aircraft came to rest tipped on it's nose.
