On 1st October 1943 this aircraft was landing at Dalton airfield when the undercarriage collapsed on landing. The aircraft was on the books of the Air Fighting Development Unit (AFDU) at the time. The damaged was initially assessed on site and minor Cat.Ac damage was recorded but while it was being repaired further internal damage must have been found and it was re-Cat.E and written off.
