Proctor P6193 at Clifton airfield.
At around 16.30hrs on 29th July 1943 Proctor P6193 was parked on the grass next to the watch office when it was seen to be on fire, almost certainly having caught fire while the engine was being started. The fire was quickly extinguished but both crew appear to have been slightly injured. A short time later the aircraft was towed into the Station Flight hanger. The aircraft being used by Clifton's Station flight within No.33 Group Army Co-Operation Command at the time.

Proctor P6193 was ordered as a Vega Gull and was built to contract 975967/39 by Percival Aircraft Ltd at Luton but came off the production line as a Proctor MkI. It was delivered into MU storage in June 1940. Its life thereafter is somewhat unclear but it is known to have been issued initially to Woolsington Station Flight (date not known), then after a further period of MU storage it was issued to No.2 S.S.(Signals School) at Yatebury which was re-designated No.2 Radio School on 1st January 1943. On an unknown date later in 1943, and again after a period of MU storage, it was issued to Clifton Station Flight and was written off with Cat.E2/Burnt damage recorded on 29th July 1943.
