Blenheim P4839 near Cranswick.

On 13th June 1943 this aircraft was being flown on a daytime cross country training flight when a forced landing had to be made because both engines failed. The aircraft crash landed in a field at 11.45hrs but the location of where this happened on the RAF's accident record card is hard to read, it seems to state it was near Cranswick. Hutton Cranswick is also given elsewhere so this would appear to be correct. The aircraft was repaired.

Pilot - Sgt Kenneth Davey RAF (658552). Injured.

Nothing is known about Kenneth Davey's wartime service but post-war he was appointed to a short service commission on 5th March 1954 (with service to count from 6th April 1951). He retired from the RAF on 31st March 1962 having risen to F/Lt.
