Maurice Prill was born on 1st December 1921 and was the son of Julius Edward and Vida Elizabeth Prill of Minburn, Alberta, Canada. Nothing is currently known about his life prior to enlisting in the RCAF. Having trained to be a wireless operator / air gunner he formed part of the initial five man Wellington crew with Thomas Kneale at 23 OTU based at Pershore.

P/O Maurice Prill was twenty two years old and is buried with other members of his crew in Harrogate Stonefall Cemetery, Yorkshire.
The Prill family would loose another son just over a month after Maurice Prill's death. Air Gunner Sgt Berle Clinton Prill RCAF (R/178786) was serving with 427 Squadron and was lost on 21st January 1944 when Halifax EB246 crashed in Germany. He and his crew are now buried in Berlin War Cemetery.
