On 3rd December 1943 this A.F.E.E. aircraft was parked at Sherburn in Elmet airfield with ground crew working on it when a fitter in the cockpit accidentally retracted the undercarriage while attempting to close the bomb doors. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted.
