Halifax L9575 at Marston Moor airfield.
On 23rd June 1943 this 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was being flown on a training flight which included flying and landing on three engines. As the aircraft turned to line up with the runway at Marston Moor for one such landings with the port outer engine feathered the port inner engine failed. The (probable) instructor, P/O Alcock, managed to take control and raise the undercarriage before making a belly landing on Marston Moor airfield at 08.23hrs.

Trainee Pilot - Sgt Douglas Arthur Robinson RAFVR (1215638).
Douglas Robinson was to complete his training and was posted to 158 Squadron. He received a commission on 4th January 1944 to the rank of P/O on probation (170413). On the night of 28th / 29th January 1944 he was the pilot of Halifax HX333 that was badly damaged by flak on Ops to Berlin. He force landed the aircraft in Holland and he and his crew all became PoW's. Post war he remained in the RAFVR Training Branch until reliquishing his commission on 7th June 1964.
Henry Drury Alcock RNZAF (403298) flew with 462 Squadron during late 1942 in North Africa and was awarded the Air Force Cross, Gazetted on 1st January 1946. He was instructing at Marston Moor at the time of the June 1943 incident at Marston Moor.
