At 18.45hrs on 15th October 1943 this 271 Squadron aircraft overshot on landing on the grass landing strip at Doncaster airfield and came to rest in a ditch on the airfield boundary. The names of those injured listed below were found in a Ferry Command occurance book (AIR38-233).
One issue with the aircraft serial being K7012 is that the 271 Squadron record book states that this aircraft was flown to Perranport and Skaebrae on 14th October 1943 and did not return to Doncaster until 20th October 1943. The Sparrow was a transport converted Harrow aircraft.
