Halifax JD308 at Marston Moor airfield.
On 24th September 1943 this 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft took off from Marston Moor airfield but the pilot allowed the aircraft to sink slightly while retracting the undercarriage. The undercarriage was damaged on contact with the ground while partly retracted. On landing there at 09.10hrs the port undercarriage leg collapsed damaging the aircraft. Minor Cat.Ac damage resulted and it was repaired.
