Halifax JB928 at Marston Moor airfield.

On 7th May 1943 this 78 Squadron aircraft this aircraft was parked on a dispersal point at Marston Moor airfield and left empty. Two hours later at 06.00hrs the undercarriage collapsed. A leaking hydraulic valve was found to have caused the problem. The aircraft had almost certainly landed at Marston Moor earlier that night and was one of four 78 Squadron aircraft to land there following cross country training flights instead of their base at Linton on Ouse.
