On the evening of 18th March 1943 this 77 Squadron aircraft was flown on a training exercise. On making an approach to land at Elvington at 20.18hrs the initial landing was heavy but the pilot realised and applied power to then fly another circuit of the airfield. A landing was then made without incident but minor damage to the aircraft was caused in making the initial heavy touch down.
