Halifax HR791 at Lissett airfield.
On the night of 3rd / 4th October 1943 the crew of this 158 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb Kassel and took off from Lissett airfield at 19.09hrs. The crew released their bomb load over the target from 17,500 feet at 21.30hrs and flew back to Lissett without incident landing at 01.25hrs. While taxying around the perimeter track the aircraft struck a vehicle which had failed to clear the aircraft's path. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted.
