Halifax HR716 damaged in the air, landed at Driffield airfield.
On the night of 13th / 14th May 1943 this 158 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb Bochum and took off from Driffield airfield at 23.33hrs. The crew released their bomb
load onto the target at 02.18hrs from 18,500 feet. During this flight the aircraft was slightly damaged by flak but despite this damage the crew flew back to Driffield and landed at 04.52hrs.
