On 15th September 1943 the engine of this aircraft failed during the take-off run at Sherburn in Elmet airfield at 10.35hrs, the pilot abandoned the take-off but could not stop the aircraft before the end of the runway in use and it run off into the soft ground tipping up onto its nose.
