Martinet HP205 at Driffield airfield.
On 21st January 1943 this 1484 (Bombing) Gunnery Flight aircraft struck a Drem light on landing at Driffield airfield and broke off the tail wheel strut.

Martinet HP205 was built to contract ACFT/1690/C.23(c) by Philips and Powys Ltd. at Woodley and was delivered to 29 M.U. at High Ercall on 4th January 1943. On 16th January 1943 the aircraft was taken on charge by 1484 (Bombing) Gunnery Flight at Driffield. As a result of the mishap on 21st January 1943 minor Cat.A/FA damage was the damage assessment, it was then repaired on site and returned to the unit. On 18th March 1944 the published Air Britain history states it was repaired on site again but does not list a reason for this. On 18th April 1944 it was flown to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 19th September 1944 it was taken on charge by 631 Squadron at Towyn. In the coming months it was then loaned to 3502 S.U. at Gosport. On 22nd February 1945 it was flown to Short & Harland Ltd. in Belfast for a major inspection and repair in works. On 12th May 1947 it was taken on charge by 695 Squadron at Horsham St.Faith, on 11th February 1949 this unit was re-designated as 34 Squadron and was still at Horsham St.Faith. Around this time the aircraft was reported as being Cat.B damaged but no reason given and or date is given. On 3rd June 1949 it was then reported as being assessed as damaged beyond repair, Cat.E., at 58 M.U. at Newark. The aircraft was then taken to 34 M.U. at Monkmoor where it was scrapped on 9th February 1950.
