Oxford HM729 near Kelfield.
During the afternoon of 18th December 1943 this aircraft being flown in bad weather when the pilot appears to have got lost. At 15.30hrs a forced landing was made with the undercarriage up in a field near Kelfield. It was felt that the pilot had taken off without obtaining a proper weather forecast and with visibility below the minimum set out by the ATA. The pilot was with No.5 Training Ferry Pilot Pool based at Thame.
