Jacob Jensky was born on 29th July 1911 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA and was the son of Benjamin and Bertha Jensky (nee Pinsky). Both his parents were born in Russia but had emigrated to the USA soon after they were married. He attended school and college in New York and later gained a Bachelor of Science post-graduate degree at the Univerity of New York studying aviation communications. He was living in New York City working for the Great West Colonization Company when he enlisted for RCAF service and had learnt to fly as a civilian pilot in 1940. He enlisted for RCAF service on 1st December 1941 in Montreal, after initial training in Canada he was awarded his pilot's Wings on 6th November 1942. On arrival in the UK he trained at 15 (P)AFU and 20 OTU before posting to 432 Squadron on 3rd August 1943. F/Sgt Jensky was killed while still serving with 432 Squadron on 31st August 1943 when flying as second pilot in Wellington JA118 on Ops to Monchengladbach. He was initially buried locally but is now buried in Rheinberg War Cemetery, Germany. He was thirty two years old. He had enlisted into the RCAF in Montreal on 1st January 1942.
