At 21.40hrs on 24th October 1943 this 18 O.T.U. aircraft attempted to land at Finningley following a cross country training flight. In poor visibility the aircraft lined up with the wrong side of the flare path and as it got to ground level it struck a mound with the tail wheel before then damaging the nose when it crashed into rough ground. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted.
