Halifax DT618 at Riccall airfield.
During the afternoon of 4th September 1943 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit was flown on a training flight lasting just over four hours. The aircraft made a heavy landing at Riccall at 15.45hrs, then bounced and then touched down again tail first. This caused the tail wheel assembly to collapse and the aircraft slithered to a halt.
