Halifax DT549 at Riccall airfield.
At 14.30hrs on 3rd October 1943 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft landed at Riccall airfield following a training flight but bounced. The instructor attempted to push the throttles forward to apply power so to climb away and make an overshoot of the airfield but the pupil had his hands on them and was holding them firmly so they would not move. Left with no option a landing was made but the aircraft came down fairly heavy resulting in the tail wheel assembly braking.
