During the evening of 10th April 1943 this 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was used for a training exercise. On the approach to land at Lindholme at 19.40hrs the port outer either failed or the pilot was to simulate an engine failure so feathered the propeller. A landing was made on three engines but it was too fast and the aircraft overshot. It sustained minor damage.

Halifax DT482 was built to contract B.982938/39 by English Electric Co.Ltd. at Samlesbury. It was initially taken on charge by 103 Conversion Flight at Elsham Wolds on 23rd August 1942 but was then transferred to the parent 103 Squadron two days later. On 30th November 1942 it transferred to 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit at Lindholme. As a result of damage sustained at Lindholme on 11th February 1943, 10th April 1943 and then on 15th August 1943 minor Cat.Ac/FA damage was the damage assessment each time and it was repaired on site each time. The final repair took until 11th December 1943 for it to be returned to the unit. On 24th March 1944 it crashed near Auckley while overshooting a landing at Lindholme and was badly damaged. Cat.E2/FA Burnt damage was recorded and the aircraft was struck off charge on 3rd April 1944.
