Lancaster DS767 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

At 16.45hrs on 29th December 1943 the crew of 426 Squadron Lancaster DS741 was taxying at Linton on Ouse airfield in preparation for taking off for an operational flight to bomb Berlin when the port wing tip of DS741 struck the nose of 408 Squadron Lancaster DS767 that was awaiting take off. Minor Cat.A damage resulted to both aircraft that was repaired on site at Linton on Ouse.

Pilot - P/O Lloyd Leonard Hand Hansen RCAF (J/18692).

P/O Hansen and crew were killed on 14th / 15th January 1944 flying Lancaster DS767 on Ops to Braunschweig. All are buried in Hannover War Cemetery.
