Lancaster DS651 at East Moor airfield.


There is an AM Form 1180 for this aircraft that states at 10.00hrs on 4th October 1943 this 1679 Heavy Conversion Flight aircraft was having a routine work carried out at East Moor airfield and was being held up on jacks. One of the jacks was not properly located on or near a flap and when the flap was operated the jack partially collapsed causing minor damage to the aircraft.

The AM.78 movement card for this aircraft lists it as having sustained minor Cat.Ac damage on 5th October 1943 (proabbly when the assessment was made). It was repaired and returned to the unit on 16th October 1943.
