Halifax DK185 at Leeming airfield.
On the night of 19th / 20th June 1943 this 427 Squadron was flown on an operational flight to bomb Le Creusot. The crew took off from Leeming airfield at 21.51hrs and released their bomb load from 6,000 feet at 01.52hrs. They made a good return to Leeming but just after landing at 05.11hrs during what appeared to be a normal landing run the undercarriage collapsed.
