Wellington DF570 at Finningley airfield.

During the morning of 3rd October 1943 this 18 O.T.U. aircraft was flown on a training flight. On landing at 11.30hrs the aircraft was being taxied around Finningley airfield when the undercarriage lever was moved instead of the flap lever in the cockpit. Instead of the pilot raising the flaps the undercarriage became unlocked and began to raise causing it to collapse. The aircraft was one used by the gunnery flight as part of 18 O.T.U. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted.
