This aircraft was on charge with the AFEE but had been damaged on landing at Sherburn in Elmet airfield while being flown by a 316 Squadron pilot. Repairs must have then taken place on site at Sherburn in Elmet. On 28th February 1943 it was flown on an airtest. With this complete after thirty minutes the pilot landed at Sherburn in Elmet airfield on a grass surface but the starboard wheel ran into a rut which caused the aircraft to swung and eventually tip onto its nose.
