Spitfire BM530 at Hutton Cranswick airfield.
During the morning of 30th July 1943 this 308 Squadron aircraft was being used on a circuits and landings exercise when, at 11.12hrs, during one landing the undercarriage was not properly locked down. A member of ground staff shone a red warning lamp toward him but the pilot did not notice then and went on to land, the leg then collapsed on landing.
