Whitley BD505 at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
On 29th December 1943 a No.6 Ferry Pilot Pool, ATA pilot was taxying Albercore BD505 aircraft around Sherburn in Elmet airfield when the brakes failed and it struck Whitley BD505 slightly damaging both aeroplanes. The Whitley was on charge with the A.F.E.E. who were probably using it as a tug aircraft for various projects being undertaken at Sherburn in Elmet at the time.
