Halifax BB382 at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
On 3rd May 1943 this aircraft was in the care of No.7 Ferry Pilot Pool of the ATA and was on the ground at a dispersal point at Sherburn in Elmet. While the aircraft was being turned on the dispersal point a cowling blew up and damaged the aircraft. Minor Cat.A damage resulted.

This damage was very minor and it does not appear on the aircraft's AM Form 78. It was a new aircraft, having only been received from the makers by 18 MU on 29th April 1943. It was taken on charge by the OAPU on 29th May 1943 and was flown out to North Africa in June 1943.
