On 18th October 1943 this 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft took off from Lindholme airfield but as the aircraft left the ground the port outer engine cut out. The pilot managed to make a successful belly landing on the airfield at 12.25hrs but it was slightly damaged.

Halifax BB269 was built to contract B.124357/40 by The London Passenger Transport Board Ltd. at Leavesden and was taken on charge by 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit at Lindholme on 20th December 1942. As a result of an accident on 4th May 1943 at Lindholme Cat.Ac/FA damage was the damage assessment. A repair on site was commenced on 7th May 1943 and it was returned to 1656 H.C.U. charge on 13th August 1943. On 18th October 1943 it's engines cut out soon after taking off from Lindholme. The pilot managed to make a successful crash landing but the aircraft received a Cat.Ac/FA damage assessment. The aircraft was repaired on site and was returned to 1656 H.C.U. charge on 4th March 1944. On 10th December 1944 the aircraft was flown to 48 M.U. at Hawarden for disposal and was then struck off charge four days later.
