On 3rd August 1943 the pilot of this aircraft was diverted to land at Finningley airfield because of a problem with the undercarriage, one of the legs would not lock down properly so he received instructions to head to Finningley. On arriving there the aircraft ground-looped and was badly damaged.

The pilot was probably Sgt Ernest John Golley RAFVR (1322882) who enlisted into the RAF in 1941. He later received his commission on 5th October 1944 and flew with 245 Squadron and later 595 Squadron. Post-war he worked for the BBC and later became involved in film making for independant television. He died in 2000.
