On 8th April 1943 this unidentified 18 O.T.U. Wellington made a belly landing on the flare path at Finningley airfield at 01.30hrs. The only record book that I have located that mentions in the incident is what is claimed to be the 25 O.T.U. orb for 1941-1943 but resembles more like Finningley station orb as it covers events at Finningley long after 25 O.T.U. had left and lacks detail. This orb gives the aircraft identity as being Wellington HL376 but this was not a Wellington.
