In Aviation Archaeologist magazine No.46 (June 2005) Steven Jones writes that on 4th June 1943 eight B-26 aircraft were on their last stage of a ferrying flight from the USA to Great Britain. They set out from Port Lyautey (or Kenitra), Morocco and were aiming on landing at St. Eval, Cornwall. Only the lead aircraft carried any radio equipment capable of contacting with ground stations. Owing to poor weather then eight aircraft became seperated, one force landed in Eire, two crashed in Wales. 41-34738 Mr Jones states made a landing at Dalton airfield. I have yet to find any source documentation for this to state whether any damage resulted.
