Unidentified Halifax damaged in the air, probably returned to Topcliffe airfield.
Tholthorpe airfield's Flying Control log book gives vague information that at 14.30hrs on 2nd September 1943 an engine part of a Topcliffe-based aircraft came away and fell between Tholthorpe and East Moor airfields. The aircraft would have been one belonging to 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit. It probably returned to Topcliffe and landed safely.
Pilot - Name unknown.
